Warm and Cold Sunlight Mood: My images of Week 28 2020

In this segment, I show the images which I posted this week on Instagram – along with some background information. I truly appreciate a like and a comment, if you like what you see consider following me @twj.st. In short: This week will be a lot softer than the previous ones, and – surprise – no drone images among them ๐Ÿคฏ. The main theme is a mood created by sunlight and warm to cold transitions. There are two more intimate images of a tree and a boulder, and one overlooking Muttenz and Basel.

Twjst.photo Week as a Video Summary

I’m creating a weekly video summary of my photographic week on my Facebook page. Head over there to check it out. As soon as it is published and I find the time, I will embed it below.

Warm to Cold

Simple and complex at the same time? There are images which are simple on the one hand and still contain some complexity on the other. What drew me to this scene was the amazing warm to cold color transition on the one hand and the detailed texture of the bark of this tree on the other. Evening Light

A perfect example for the following rule: some images can only be taken once you’re done with what you wanted to shoot in the first place. That’s exactly what happened here: I came to the Rhine at sunset, shot directly towards the sun, in the other direction, photographed the moon in the sky and flew my drone. Only then I packed my stuff and started slowly walking around when I saw this rock and how beautifully it was hit by the warm sunlight. I was not able to see it before, because I was actually leaning against it when I took the other shots ๐Ÿ˜„ Shot on ๐Ÿ—“ April 30th 2020 using a ๐Ÿ“ธ Canon EOS R, edited in Lightroom

Muttenz to Basel

Would you believe me if I told you this was not a drone shot? For this image I walked up to Wartenberg above Muttenz in the early morning. I wanted to use my drone, but with the wide angle on it I saw everything and nothing. Only when using my camera with a zoom lens on some interesting perspectives started to emerge.
