Night of Light @ Tinguely Museum: My images of Week 26 2020

In this segment, I show the images which I posted this week on Instagram – along with some background information. I truly appreciate a like and a comment, if you like what you see consider following me @twj.st. In short: This weeks images are all from the “Night of Light” in Switzerland on June 22nd. Specifically of the Tinguely Museum in Basel.
On June 22nd, the “event industry” illuminated many buildings in Switzerland in red to make people aware that they are in a very precarious situation.

Twjst.photo Week as a Video Summary

I’m creating a weekly video summary of my photographic week on my Facebook page. Head over there to check it out. As soon as it is published and I find the time, I will embed it below.

Above Tinguely Museum

Did you notice all the red illuminated buildings in Switzerland on Monday this week? A first impression of the Tinguely Museum in Basel flying over it during the “Night of Light”. On June 22nd, the “event industry” illuminated many buildings in Switzerland in red to make people aware that they are in a very precarious situation. I think this was organized in a short timeframe. I would not have been aware of it had I not been contacted in a Facebook group about it…

Long exposure featuring Tinguely Museum in Basel

The Tinguely museum in Basel shot during the “Night of Light”, a project put together by the “event industry” to make people aware of the precarious situation it is in. Although a lot of Corona related restrictions are lifted – the industry hardly gets any bigger assignments. And on top: because a lot of sanctions were lifted, also support from the state is gone.

Night of Light reflecting in the Tinguely Fountain in Basel

Of the three “Night of Light” images I took of the Tinguely museum in Basel, this one is my favorite. The reflection of the red illumination in the fountain in front of the museum gives an almost “endless” red impression. Only the very dark blue remnant of atmospheric light is there as a color contrast.
