My images of Week 23 2020
In this segment, I show the images which I posted this week on Instagram – along with some background information. I truly appreciate a like and a comment, if you like what you see consider following me @twj.st. In short: You get one black and white edit from a topdown shot of Markhalle Basel, one with beautiful light on a swing hanging from a tree at Paradieshof in Binningen and last but not least a drone shot of a sunset from Sulzchopf near Muttenz.
Twjst.photo Week as a Video Summary
I’m creating a weekly video summary of my photographic week on my Facebook page. Head over there to check it out. As soon as it is published and I find the time, I will embed it below.
Octagon Black and White
A new π€ black and white π€ edit of a top down shot on the Markthalle Basel (you can find a color version here).Β While Top-Down perspectives are more and more commonly found, I am still amazed how different the world looks like from this perspective. The dominating form of Markthalle is usually round: the giant half dome – but from this perspective this vanished completely, and you are greeted by a a beautiful octagon. Shot on π February 21st 2020 using a πΈ DJI Mavic Air, edited in Lightroom
Iluminated Childhood
This is what I thought when I saw how the sun was hitting this little swing hanging from a tree. I was always told – and keep being told – that I should look for the light to make good photographs. While this image is a step forward, I don’t think I ever really understood what it actually means – but I keep trying. Found at Paradieshof in Binningen. Shot on π April 29th 2020 using a πΈ EOS R, edited in Lightroom
You may be interested in a little Lightroom tutorial on how I edited this image. Here a link to how I enhanced the light mood with a subtle edit!
Grainy Sunset
A bit grainier today than usual – but I like the mood. This image was taken near Sulzchopf, Muttenz at sunset looking towards Basel. I combined multiple exposures of my Mavic Air to somewhat handle the dynamic range. Shot on π April 22nd 2020 using a πΈ DJI Mavic Air, edited in Lightroom and Photoshop
