Panoramas and Wide shots of Basel – My images of Week 34, 2020
In this segment, I show the images which I posted this week on Instagram – along with some background information. I truly appreciate a like and a comment, if you like what you see consider following me @twj.st. In short: This week I have wide images only. One panorama of the Basel Railwaystation, one long exposure showing the Roche site and one casual drone shot above the Gempen tower.
Twjst.photo Week as a Video Summary
I’m creating a weekly video summary of my photographic week on my Facebook page. Head over there to check it out. As soon as it is published and I find the time, I will embed it below.
Basel SBB Panorama
I find panoramas super fascinating, so much to explore π But tricky how to present them on social media since most are favoring vertical images… A while ago I saw this trick on Instagram to slice the image into several parts which you can then swipe through to see the whole pano. It even mimics exploration π Shot on π February 21st, 2020 using a πΈ DJI Mavic Air, edited in Lightroom and Photoshop
β³ Time Flow β³
The contrast of the towers of the Roche site in Basel versus the smooth flow of time – be it air or water. I created this image during a photography course. As usual I got side-tracked and photographed something else than the rest of the course π I used a 10 stop ND filter and exposed 30 seconds at f/11. Three of those images were then merged to give the result you are looking at. I don’t have any experience with this kind of photography, so any constructive, creative feedback is welcome!
Below I have two versions, one a 4×5 and the other 16×9. Which one do you favor?

Rose Gempen π
Casual drone shot looking past the Gempen tower into the Jura mountains during sunset. The light drenched everything in a slight rose hue. I only noticed the different shades of green, brown, and yellow of the trees in the forest below when editing this photograph.
