In this segment, I’ll show the images which I posted on this week on Instagram – along with some background information. Three images from Basel this week, one abstract topdown drone shot from Markthalle Basel which is to my surprise not round but has an octagon shape. And then two “artificial” long exposures of Basel SBB, in one case a combination of 49 (!) images.

You may know the structure: From the ground the all defining shape is a giant dome – which completely disapears in this perspective of a top-down shot of Markthalle Basel. I was surprised to see an octagon shape instead…

I got lucky, again (get used to it ๐). The tram passing in the foreground beautifully “closes” the frame of this shot of Basel SBB. No way I would have gotten the shot if this was planned. For the result I combined 5 individual images.
The 49 Second Moment

This is a dynamic yet long moment of an early morning of a working day at Basel SBB. This was a bigger project: I blended 7 sequences containing 7 images with 1 second exposure each (49 shots in total) to get the result you are looking at.
